How we met

It was a warm night in July.... errr, no it probably wasn't but I just wanted to start a story like that. He's my uncle so he's known me for all my 31 years. He's twenty years older than my mom but I always feel like he's so young. He has aged very gracefully and I remember when I was young I thought he was 30 forever. Apparently that is what I thought was old back then and now I'm 31 so I'm ancient.

Tricia Rochelle Simonson - Trika Rain

How we met

Tricia and I met our freshman year of High School (or maybe the summer before). We both thought we were hippies so we got along awesomely. Sometimes I look at some of the stuff we used to wear back then (Sarah and Vickie included) and I really question our choices lol) We spent many a nights together that first year of our friendship, so many good times! Her family was evenly as great. They took me in and let me stay with them after my parents moved to Troutdale when we were sophomores. It was short lived but we had fun while it lasted it. Tricia's always been more relaxed then me so she's good at balancing me out.

Since we were hippies she needed a hippy name :) I loved the idea of any one's name being Rain back in the day. I think it's so pretty, even to this day and Trika is a pretty lady after all.

I can't pinpoint our exact meeting event but I'd guess it was at a Droplaw show in 2008. She was dating the lead singer of the band and I was a groupie :) We started hanging out without the Droplaw group and realized we hearted each other. Since then are friendship has just gotten stronger.

Well she may have had a couple adult beverages one night and I thought it would be clever to call her Shitney. Not too sure she totally loves the name but she hasn't punched me yet lol

Myrtella Elithia Wilbert - AKA Grandma Myrt

How we met
It's safe to assume she was also there when I was born. (I'm starting to think my family doesn't tell stories enough) I do know that she was scared to hold me because she thought she'd break me. That's the kind of person I remember. Gentle, kind, and soothing. We spent a lot of time with my grandma until I was 9 and we moved to Beaverton. My grandma got sick when I was in my early teens with dementia/Alzheimer's and I miss her and always wonder what our relationship would be like now.

Anna Noel Fender - AKA Anna No L

How we met

Anna and I met in 2000 when we both worked at Target. I was the new girl and she worked the jewelry counter. We both smoked so often would take our break together. She ended up going on my first trip to Lake Billy with me and we had a blast. We spent many a nights having great times we probably wouldn't remember :) I've seen her grow up a lot in 12 years from a crazy party girl to a wonderful mother. No matter how long it's been since we've seen each (although it's not too often usually) we pick right back up where we left up. I'm honored to be apart of her wedding which is just a little over a month away, yikes!

How Anna became Anna No L

The first time I made a xmas card for Anna I wrote on the envelope Anna with a capital L inside a no symbol (you know, the circle with a line through it). It just stuck after that.

How we met

Like Kristin I met Nicole through my friend Breanne. She was part of the Westview click that I became friends with because some Meadow kids ended up at Sunset. We hung out with a lot of the same people and naturally became good friends. She's kind of like my little sister that I feel like I need to protect from this big scary world (even though I'm only 2 months older than her)

I don't know how this came about. There's a special way to pronounce it too, its Neeeehole. I think I called her something different in our teen years but my memories shot

How we met

I met Travis through his brother and we just ended up being great friends. He's a few years younger than me but that never got in the way of our friendship. Really, we just got into trouble together :) He was a big part of my teen years and I even forgave him for stealing my diary (ass!). I always feel like no matter what is going on he sees the good in me and that is a nice feeling. I love him dearly and hate that he lives in Cali. I got the chance to watch Kyra grow up and I'm sad that I don't get that with Wyatt.

How we met

I met Kelly in the beginning of 1997 when my parents decided it would be fun to yank me out of the town I had grown up in and move me to Troutdale. She was elected to give me the tour of my new High school, Reynolds. Kelly is one of the few people that was actually nice to me. We hung out all the time and even though I moved back to Beaverton in the summer 1998 we stayed in touch. Now thinking about how the time between when we met and when I moved back home I feel like it was so much longer than that. I guess it's because we had so much fun together. (I'm not even 100% sure Marie is her middle name, now that I've had to think of everyone's middle names I'm starting to get confused lol)

Kelly and smelly rhyme of course. She was actually Smelly Testy in my phone until I was 25 or so! :)

Dallas Elan Jenkins - AKA Dally

How we met

Dallas and I met at a mutual friends house in 4th grade. It was Halloween and she was dressed up as a soldier and I was dressed up as a princess :) We hung out A LOT for many many years. We started our own band called DC2 and we only did cover songs. Our biggest hit was "I will never lie again" by Immature. We also had a pretty fancy dance to some song that started "In 1814 we took a little trip". I could tell endless stories about us but some things shouldn't be publicly broadcasted. lol She has more dirt on me than anyone else in the world. We can go months without talking and when we get back together again it's as if no time has passed at all.

How we met

Taurie and I met in 8th grade. She was best friends with Levi and I was best friends with his brother Travis and so we were brought together. We spent our youth smoking cigarettes and camping. We have spent a lot of time in a car together listening to Sublime and singing as loud as we can. We used to make up stories on our drives too. Then in 1998 she gave birth to our babies. Shawn and Samantha are the closest to kids I'll probably ever get and I love them dearly. She's always let me be apart of their life and I can't thank her enough for sharing her babies with me.

How we met

We met on November 8th, 1980. She was not excited to have a little sister in the least! She spent many a nights dreaming of ways to get rid of me so she could have our parents to herself :) Growing up we'd listen to little thinker tapes and draw together. We walked to school every day together when we lived in St Helens and after we moved to Beaverton we grew apart. She was a teenager and I was the annoying little sister that just wanted to be cool. We're are completely different people but are a lot alike as well. I know my sister has my back no matter what is going on in life. Our lives have been full of challenges and so we need to stick together. I'm glad we've become closer over the last couple years. No one comforts me like my seeester.

How we met

The first time we really met was in junior high and we were assigned locker partners. I was "too cool" back then though and didn't really try to be friends with her. Soon after she left and went to Meadow (with the rest of the dirt heads lol). Then we ended up hanging out with the same group of people and were inseparable for many years. People often thought we were sisters or even had mistaken us for each other. We have had many many good times together from camping on the beach to driving to Idaho for a funeral.

Sarah and I were friends at a time when I usually called people by their first and middle or first and last name. I think that that Sarah Ashley is a beautiful name and she's a beautiful girl so it worked out well. At times I call her Tank as well :)

How we met

I met Tabitha in 5th grade at Terra Linda. We were pretty much the only poor kids in our school so we had to be friends :) We became fast friends and even though we went to different middle schools we still stayed good friends. I even became a woman at her house (TMI?? lol) Tabitha left me to move to Montana when we were in our early 20's and I actually miss the long telephone calls and letters we used to exchange. Now she's my neighbor and I never get to see her because life is crazy :( No one would think that two people who were so different could get along as well as we do! I love her with all my heart and am thankful our paths crossed so many years ago.

How we met

Strange that I have no idea how our first encounter went. I can only assume she was there when I was born and fell in love instantly ;) My Aunt Nae Nae is my moms sister. I feel like I have always had a special bond with my Aunt. She always makes me feel special and has only ever been kind to me. One of my favorite memories growing up was staying the night with my Aunt and how her pillowcases were always cold and crisp. She'd always make up stories about Hewey, Dewey, and Louie too. I love my Aunt very much and wish I got to see her more often then I do.

Ella Josephine Elise Osborne AKA ECBC

How we met
Ella was not only 10 days late but she decided to come while I was out of town and had very little phone reception. I debated and cried while I tried to figure out if I should rush home but after talking to my sister I decided to stay. Early on Monday morning I packed up camp as fast as I could and headed home to meet my new niece. This was on May 26th 2008. I was in need of a shower and super tired but it was totally worth the early wake up and fast drive home. I instantly was in love and wanted to hold her tiny little hands all day and night. I love Ella more than I love anyone else and I'm not afraid to admit it. I find myself missing her all the time when I haven't seen her for a couple of days. Thankfully she thinks I'm pretty cool too! Whenever I'm having a rough time with life I have to see her because she makes things worth living for.
How Ella became ECBC
Well she's had a name change so it used to make a little more sense because her two first initials were EC and then the BC rhymed so I like it. I even have my own little song for her that I stole from Beaches. "Ella Ella the wonder cat, I'm so glad you're not a rat, or a bat, or too fat". I'm fairly certain someday this song will not make her light up but for now I'll take the enjoyment she gets out of me singing it to her.

How we met
I met Lindsey on Labor day weekend of 2006. At the time I was dating her brother and I was on a camping trip with him and his parents (did I mention I had been dating her brother for all of about 2 weeks when I went on this trip??). Lindsey wasn't camping with us but she stopped in with her then boyfriend for the day to hang out. I was shoved into the back of a truck with her where her brother proceeded to let the whole family know we hadn't had sex yet. Besides being a very awkward first encounter we totally hit it off and I think I'd be lost without her now. I don't think I've ever felt like anyone understood me and the reasons I am like I am before I met her.

I think this came about one night when her brother and I were at her house for a game night. We had been drinking some wine and decided we would be best friends forever because we had so much in common. Then all night we called each other BFF. At first it was just to annoy Kenny but it turned out to be the truth. Sometimes when I'm looking for her number I'll start to type a B instead of L :)

Randy and I met how lots of people these days meet, through the Internet. A friend of mine had convinced me to try Match.com and I finally decided to give it a go, but only for a month. Randy e-mailed me and we went on a date to Coaches and I guess the rest is history. I'm very thankful he came into my life. I've never had anyone in my life encourage me and he definitely has. <3 you babe

I have no idea how this came about. Now, Boyfriend isn't his only nickname. I also call him Randolfini :) I just like how Boyfriend sounds and I tell him all the time that even if we get married I will still call him that.

I had to start with the woman who inspired me of course!

How we met

Sarah and I met at a party in 2005 (I think). It was party where I didn't know many people so I was keeping to myself and reading a magazine in the kitchen when a little lady decided to tell me I couldn't read a magazine at a party. We bonded over our anxiety and I even rolled her some cigarettes! Yes, when we met she rolled her own cigs lol. We exchanged numbers because we had decided we needed to be friends forever. I'm not sure who ended up getting a hold of who but eventually it did happen and our friendship has been steady ever since.

How Sarah became Slim

If you know me well enough you know I rarely call anyone by their given name. I've always called people by their first & middle, first & last, or a nickname. Sarah was feeling left out so she told me she wanted a nickname too. I can't remember the specifics as to why I decided it would be her name backwards but it's worked out pretty great!

Blogging seems fun.....

I started a blog in 2010 that was called "30 days until I'm 30" or something along those lines and I really loved doing it so I wanted to start another one. I don't know where this blog will take me but I have a couple ideas so far. I think for this first month I'm going to write about a different special person in my life for each day.

Hmmmm, can I really think of 30 people that are so awesome that they deserve a blog written about them? I'm sure I can. There are many people that love me even if I am a control freak, brutally honest, and more than a little damaged. These people clearly deserve something and I think a little blog love is in store for them.

Here's the real qestion. Do I have time to do a blog daily? Hell no but I'm gonna make time because lately all I do is study, work, and exercise. I need some kind of release :)
